River FM has finally ceased to broadcast from 6pm yesterday. As no
buyer could be found for the struggling station, they pulled the plug.
Launched in September 2003 the station didnt last long but will be
sadly missed by its 22,000 listeners. The last song played by the
station was 'All good things come to an end' by Nelly Furtado. The
Station handed the license back to ofcom last night. It is understood
that Ofcom may give the West Lothian license to a community radio
station.

Two shops have closed in the almondvale Shopping Centre to making way
for two new ones. One of the Game stores has closed and is set to be
replaced by The Body Shop. Also Birthdays card shop has recently closed
and is being replaced by another card shop Card Factory.

Work starts this monday the 21st August on the new multi-million pound
almondvale phase 3. When completed Livingston will have the biggest
shopping centre in scotland.

A new retail park which is to be situated on the former Safeway petrol
station site has launched a new website. The new development is called

Livingstoni.co.uk reaches 2 Years Old. On the 24th June 2004
Livingstoni started with a basic site with a few pictures. Two Years on
livingstoni has now thousands of pictures and is the only website that
exists with such a large amount of pictures on Livingston.

Livingston FC have been relegated to the First Division after a poor
season with only a handful of wins. Now with big cuts coming into place
as the club will struggle with such low income from the lower league,
the Club is asking supporters to get there season tickets early to help
generate revenue. The club hopes it will bounce back up, but will have
strong competition against gretna who are favorites to be promoted next
year. Some good news as sponsors Intelligent finance and almondvale
shopping centre have committed to sponsor the club next year.

centre on monday the 27th March. Brian Morton, Sales and Marketing

A Planning application has been submitted to West Lothian Council to
reconstruct the fire damaged La Cappanna restaurant in carmondean and
to create a new snooker club.

Heavy snow and blizzards have hit Livingston over night causing severe
traffic problems. The snow isnt expected to stop until after mid-day.
The Met says the snow could turn to rain in some areas later, which

Billy smarts britians largest circus comes to the car park outside
Livingston Football Club next tuesday, the 7th march to the 12th of
march. The tuesday till the friday there is 2 dailiy shows 4:45pm &
7:30pm, saturday 2:00pm, 4:45pm and 7:30pm and sunday 2:00pm &
5:00pm. Ticket range from £10 for adults and £8 for children. Tickets
are available from the ticket hotline on 0870 444 1505.

Global video rental store located outside the almondvale shopping
centre will open for the last time this monday 27th february. With
strong competition from blockbuster which has recently opened not far
from the global site. Also the closure of safeway has stopped shoppers
venturing out the centre in that direction.

Da vinci's has been bought over for £1.9m and is under new ownership.
There are rumours that its going to be changed into a indian
restaurant. We will update when we get more information.

Dunfermline Building Society is set to come to Livingston in the
current site of the Livingston Art gallery in Unit 59 of the Almondvale
Shopping Cenre. We will post opening dates when we get them.

Livingston's christmas lights get switched on this thursday (3rd
November). In the Civic Square outside the Almondvale Shopping Centre.
It all starts at 4pm with the River FM Roadshow. The christmas lights
get switch on at 6pm with a fireworks display. Most stores open till
8pm.

Plans for the new £90 Million shopping development in Livingston has
been giving the green light by West Lothian Council. Work will start on
the new deveopment next summer and is planned to be completed by 2008. Click here for more information on the new development.

Labours Jim Devine retains the seat for Livingston after a small margin
beating the SNP\'s Angela Constance by under 3000 votes. Jim devine
replaces Labour MP Robin cook who held the seat for 22 years after he
collapsed and died while out hill walking.

Safeway at the almondvale shopping centre will close at 6pm on Saturday
the 15th of october for the last time. The new morrisions store which
is to replace the current safeway store has been located next to the
new B&Q and will open its doors for the first time on Monday 17th
October at 9am.

Dorothy Perkins will be moving in the next few months from its old site
into the former Etam store which in the Almondvale shopping centre.
Burtons will be taking the place of the current site of Dorothy
Perkins. Burtons was on the site of the current bookworld many years
ago.

New retail units are being constructed next to Da Vinci's. The site of
the new units is in front of the Da Vinci's hotel, Next to the
Newyearfield roundabout. There are 3 units being constructed and we

Two new shops are opening in the Almondvale shopping centre. Millets an
outdoor specialist from walking boots to tents. Millets was in the
centre a few years back in the exact same location. Also Unwin Rasmusen
is moving into the former Coda Music store, Unwin Rasmusen is a small
legal practice based in West Lothian. We don’t have dates as yet.

Maplin Electronics which we told you a few months back in our "What’s
coming to Livingston" section has opens its doors next saturday morning
9th April by former co-founder Roger Allan. The store has opened in the
former Traesko Furniture store within unit 10b of Almondvale south
Retail Park. The store is the 100th Maplin store to open in the UK. For

KFC comes to Livingston, the new restaurant opened its doors on Tuesday
the 22nd of March. The New restaurant is based on 2 floors and has a
drive thru. The building is located in the Almondvale South Retail Park
next to Toys R Us and Homebase.
