New to Livingston is the introduction of a Fast Link, park and ride bus service. Funded by the Scottish Executive the £2.4 Million Contract was award to Farrans Construction Limited. Work started in the spring of 2004 and finished a year later. There are three main sites along the length of the A899 main Livingston road, Knightsridge, Ladywell and Howden and each site is accessible by Craigshill.   Main aims from the project are: Providing an enhanced bus service, especially to Edinburgh, more direct and quicker Making it easier for everyone to take the bus Making the main road through Livingston less car-dominated Offering a realistic alternative to the private car Improving facilities for pedestrians and cyclists Bringing communities either side of the A899 closer together.   Pictures of the completed project will be added soon.
