The Lanthorn in dedridge is named after the old scottish
word for a lantern. The lanthorn took just over a
year to construct and was openned on the 25th June 1977
by the secretary of state of scotland Mr Bruce
Millan MP. The following year her Majesty, Queen Elizabeth
honoured Livingston by paying an official visit to the
Lanthorn and planted a tree to mark the occasion.
