Can any Dedridge residents remember the Social Club which stood next to the TA Barracks (before the TA was even there!) I used to frequent this place every Saturday and watch Thunderbirds and Stingray etc. It was a great atmosphere at the time and I really enjoyed it. Sadly the social club had to close due to financial troubles but it was a really good place at the time.

The building lay empty for years then it re-opened as Livingston 2000 (I think) but again this only lasted a few years (If that) before it was closed down again. I think the building was heavily vandalised after it closed down and possibly set on fire. It lay empty again for years then opened up, this time as a pub but I can’t remember the name of it. Now I think it is a restaurant.

I remember my cousins and I going there on Saturdays for a kids' disco (I have vivid memories of dancing to Shakin' Stevens songs  ), and it was only 10p for a large glass of cola
