wondering if anyone can help

Been driving round Livingston and wondered what is the significance of the residential area signs. By that I mean the signs as you enter Howden (looks like a Maple leaf), Ladywell etc. Does every area have one?
is there anywhere on the internet that I can view all of them?

If area of Livingston has one. Dedridge has the piper.

Dont know about most of them, but Howden's one is because all their streets are named after Canadian Cities (eg Vancouver Avenue, Manitoba Avenue, Labrador Avenue, Etc)

Dedridge 'logo' comes from the Knights Templar (think Templar Rise).

Craigshil - The Almond. Deans - the Railway., Knightsridge, can't remember - a kosh or club maybe?

Yeah, I noticed that all the street names in Howden are all of Canadian origin. Weird eh?

I wonder how many districts have 'themed' streets then?

    All of them mate!

Craigshill - Trees (Yew, Elm, Chestnut, Rowan) Rivers (Tweed, Tay) and Lochs (Maree, Doon)

K/Ridge - Names (Robertson, Lyndsey, Malcolm, Moncrieff)

    Howden : Canada (Calgary, Ontario)

Dedridge: sort of historical (Norman, Templar etc)

The 'newer' areas (IE Deans/Carmondean) are more 'regularly' named

As a further to the dedridge signs, they are all based on characters of Sir Walter Scott's Novels. Also, all of the original dedridge streets follow from east to west in alphabetical order.

The pictures were chosen following a competition in Livingston primary schools around 1993/1994 for P6 and P7 pupils to come up with pictures that represented their own district.
