Not sure why the name was changed. Logan way was part of Malcolm way too. Probably to break away from the negative connotations associated with Malcolm Way back in the 80s = Bandit Country.

The houses were built in squares with one end open - if you look at the aerial views on bing/google maps, you can see the layout. the corner houses were taken out to open up the area.

Those on the 'inside' houses in the blocks had windows which overlooked a row of other people's gardens and windows. Pretty lousy TBH, and no real quality light either.

Basically a pathway ran through each block and past/under someones house, so they did away wth those. (there was no parking off the main roadway then, just paths which are now converted allowing parking nearer to houses).

Any empty houses in the 80s basically got stripped to the frame by the neds, who nicked everything including doors and sinks. It was probably cheaper for the LDC to do a mass renovation and knock a few houses out than keep reparing them. It really was a pretty grim place back in the early 80s, even tho the houses were virtually new.

TBH, the layout of the houses was a big mistake, and you felt like you were right on top of your neighbours.
Can't actually remember a doctor's in the area.

Robertson and Ogilvie Way look like they received the same treatment?
The surgery apparently moved to Carmondean.

    Hey Fox

It may be there was a temp surgery (certainly don't remember it: if it was there it may have been a portcabin affair. Ferguson / Cameron way rings a bell.)

If you look at Barclay way, and some of the corner houses, that'lll give you an idea on the layout of Malcolm way

the doctors surgery was the first 2 houses on logan way on the left as you come under the underpass from the shops/pub, when carmondean health centre was built the ldc or council used them as offices before turning them back to houses.
