Hi
Didn't stick this into the Sport forum as I'm more interested in the other aspect of the news article...

Anyway, it's been reported on both BBC and Scotsman websites today that the Council are in 'advanced talks' to sell Livingston FC's current stadium and the land surrounding it to a major supermarket company.

It's being reported that the club will move to a new purpose built stadium 'around a mile away' and BBC are reporting that it will be a 6000 seater stadium fully compliant with Scottish Premiership standards. It seems that the new stadium will likely be constructed by whoever buys the current site.

Do we really need yet another supermarket in the town centre? We've already got a huge Morrisons, the new large Sainsburys and Asda all within two minutes of this location. Certainls has all the hallmarks of Tesco stamped all over it as the only major player missing from the town.

Where is there sufficient land close by that a new stadium and associated stuff could be built? Confused!

Oops, forgot to post links to the articles...

Think it isnt that bad an idea. Be good for Livingston to get a tesco and if it mean Livingston FC can stay near the centre of the town and keeping at least a 6k seater stadium. Im ok with this.
