Bloody hell Mark what a find! I can remember the tubes (photo 1) like it was yesterday along with the escalators! Photo 3 is Sarah's cafe? taken in the late 80's/ very early 90's after the centre revamp. The tubes looked good and very retro 70's however if the tops were made of glass then I'm sure the look wouldn't have deteriorated unlike the plastic roof.

Wow, great photos! I wish I didn't remember when the centre looked like that though, it makes me feel soooo old

I remembered another shop. I think it was originally called Head To Foot then was changed to H2F, or vice versa. It was similar to The Body Care Shop. There was a young lassie there who could never seem to count, she always got in a fluster and gave the wrong change every time

Some cracking photos and memories. Other than the shops one memory of the old centre I'll always have is the big massive car parks between the cinema side of the centre and the old forum. Great places to learn to drive!

    Hi Stationlad

There was lots of car park that was always empty. Dont know if they might have been used for the forum if big event was on. But rarly got many cars parking in them. Maybe the odd few at xmas or when the had big Car Boot Sales in them.

Do you or anyone remember the big main road that ran about 15 meters under Phase 2 and the Designer outlet. Was never opened to be used. Always had loads of glass bottles smashed on it. Then they filed it in when Phase 2 was getting built.

I remember that road well Paul! If you look to the middle left of the photo you can make out the embankment of the old road!

Here's a map from 1980 (the LDC Street map). I remember that road well. Used to leave the centre by the Presto entrance, round by the pub next to the cinema, and eat my lunch sunbathing on the embankment!

:) I remember that road as well as a kid.

Always thought it was strange to have a long road running towards the centre that used to take a while to drive down. Passing car parks on either side that were always empty (apart from Christmas), and everyone trying to squeeeeze into the car parks at the front of the building.

Looking at the picture I wonder what someone who left Livi in the 80's and hadnt been back would think of the place now.
