Good Times for Livingston

Talk about anything to do with shopping within livingston. From new shops coming to Livingston or old shops that used to be here.

I was looking at the leaflets for The Centre and Livingston Designer Outlet, and both had very high occupance rates.

Out of 167 units in The Centre, just 7 are empty now giving it a 96% occupancy rate
Out of 125 units in LDO, just 8 are empty giving it a 94% occupancy rate.

When looking about other parts of the country such as Edinburgh and Glasgow, and seeing the amount of boarded up empty shops there, you realise that despite the recession, Livingston is still attracting plenty of large chains and smaller retailers, is this down to the excellent work of Land Securities and WLC or is Livingston just a good place to be?

It's because people can't be bothered trailing through to the city when there's lots of shops all grouped together, under roofs, heated and local.
